Togolese cook accused of killing Lagos socialite reportedly dies in police custody
November 28, 2018
It is being reported that the Togolese cook accused of killing his boss, Opeyemi Badamosi, has died in police custody.
The suspect, Sunday Adefonou Anani, was accused of committing the crime just days after the socialite took him from Ondo into his Ikoyi, Lagos home.
Anani had, however, denied that he was responsible for Badamosi’s death. He claimed men numbering about four gained entrance into the house and killed his boss.
He had been charged to court on one count of murder and was supposed to make an appearance before the court on December 18.
Reports say his counsel was informed of his passing early Wednesday.
Details of the development are still sketchy.
Editor’s note: An update on this story says the report of Anani’s death is untrue.
