Togolese cook brutally murders Lagos socialite days after resuming work

A Togolese cook has been declared wanted by the police for murder.

The cook, police say, stabbed his boss, Chief Ope Bademosi, to death on Wednesday, just three days after he resumed work at the Ikoyi residence.

Bademosi had reportedly brought him to Lagos from Ondo on Sunday.

The cook, named only as Sunday, allegedly made away with Bademosi’s properties after severally sticking knife into him.

A witness said the cook strategically played loud music in the house to prevent  Bademosi’s agonising scream from being heard by neighbours.

“In fact, that guy must be a devil itself. He stabbed the man in multiple places,” the witness, who was first to see Bademosi in a pool of blood, said.

“In fact, the music was so loud that even if you were to be killing 20 people here, no one would hear them scream. After committing the act, the guy went to the toilet and pulled off the white uniform meant for cooks he was wearing because it was all stained with blood.”

Sunday also left behind his weapon, which the witness described as “long and sharp”, one that could “only be authorised for military personnel.”

“Afterward, he ransacked the whole apartment and carted away all valuables he could lay his hands on including an unaccountable sum of money, jewelries and the deceased phone,” the witness added.

Bademosi was, until his death, a socialite, and Chairman of Credit Switch Technology.

Police urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to report at a station.
