Senate confirms receipt of Buhari cabinet list

All things being equal, the ministers who will work with President Muhammadu Buhari for the next four years will be unveiled in a matter of hours.

Buhari appointed himself petroleum minister but delayed naming the rest of his cabinet prompting fears he could emerge the first Nigerian President to celebrate Independence Day without a cabinet.

That could now be laid to rest as Senate President Bukola Saraki, Wednesday, confirmed the Upper House has received the letter containing the names of those Buhari wants on his cabinet.

Unveiling the list would mean Buhari has fulfilled his promise to name his cabinet in September, 2015.
