Buhari on course to become first Nigerian President without cabinet on Independence Day
If Muhammadu Buhari fails to name his ministers today, he will become the first Nigerian President to be without a cabinet on Independence Day.
Nigeria is set to celebrate her 55 years of independence on October 1 (tomorrow).
Buhari promised to name his cabinet in September meaning he must reveal the list today or apologise for failing to do so.
OR
…dissociate himself from his promise to do so, like he did with promises he reportedly made while running for office.
Buhari already named himself petroleum minister, a move he made to arrest the massive corruption in Nigeria’s oil industry.
The other members of his cabinet are expected to be named not later than Wednesday (today) as Buhari promised.
Reports indicate a letter containing the list may have been sent to the Nigeria’s Senate.
Senate President Bukola Saraki allegedly failed to read that letter on the floor of the Red Chambers, Wednesday morning.
The Senate adjourned without reading the list the world believes it may have received.
Buhari delayed his cabinet list (if he’s got any) till now because he was shopping for spotless Nigerian saints to make ministers.
No Nigerian President has been without a cabinet on Independence Day.
Nigerians wait for Buhari to make history, or fulfil his promise.
