#NigeriaDecides2023: Tajudeen Adefisoye – youngest House of Representatives member loses re-election

Tajudeen Adefisoye, the member representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency of Ondo state and youngest member of the Nigeria House of Representatives, has lost his re-election bid in the 2023 election held on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Adefisoye lost to Festus Akingbaso a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly from Idanre local government area.

According to result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State, Akingbaso of the PDP polled 24,263 votes to defeat incumbent APC lawmaker Adefisoye, who polled 20,064 to come second.

Adefisoye, 38, who was elected federal lawmaker in 2019 on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), defected to the ruling APC in November 2020 shortly before the governorship election in the state.

Adefisoye is the Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Army.
