“She didn’t deserve to die” – Friends mourn Corps member who died on way to camp in Rivers

Alabi Oluwaseun Abigael’s dream of serving her fatherland has thrown her family in deep sorrow, as she died in an accident on her way to Port Harcourt for her Youth Service on Wednesday.

The fresh graduate of International Relations from Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu (OUI), was travelling for her three weeks orientation at the NYSC camp in Rivers State when her vehicle was involved in an accident.

Neusroom gathered from some of her friends that after she arrived safely at Portharcourt airport, Oluwaseun boarded a bus to the camp – about 30 minutes away. She didn’t get to her destination.

Some of the deceased’s friends have expressed shock about her death.

A friend revealed that Oluwaseun had promised to send photos from the camp.

“She was always in the front line of classes and meetings, she would leave her house to settle issues, she always knew when you are down, she earned the respect,” the friend said.

Oluwaseun was also described as happy and dedicated to school activities.

“She was so committed to her God, friends and school activities,” she said. “Seun never discriminated, her passion for school was unlimited, unbelievable, breathtaking, always happy, talking to her felt a lot better.

“I am hurt, I am confused, she didn’t deserve to die now, she had the right to live and to fulfil all her purpose,” the friend mourned.
