Pres. Tinubu Finally Visits Borno Following Deadly Flood
President Bola Tinubu has finally paid a visit to Maiduguri, Borno state, scene of the devastating flood that rocked the capital weeks ago.
The President touched down the capital on Moday to show support and console the people of the state on their loss.
The President is expected to access the damage caused and visit key infrastructures in the states, like hospitals, markets, schools, public facilities and residential homes that were adversely affected.
Recall that the flood was caused by the collapse of the Alau Dam.
Borno state Governor, Babagana Zulum, and other top government officials received the President.

The flood has led to the displacement of several residents, destruction of properties and loss of lives according to a report by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The flood is said to have facilitated the escape of over 200 inmates in the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Maiduguri, Borno State, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) disclosed.
NCoS spokesman Umar Abubakar, on Sunday, disclosed that a total of 281 inmates escaped, of which 7 were recovered.
The floodings is regarded as the worst flooding in 30 years, with 30 deaths recorded and over a million persons rendered homeless.
The President’s visit comes days after Vice President, Kashim Shettima, visited the flood scene.
