Gov Zulum Assents N615.8bn Borno 2025 Budget
Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has assented the 2025 appropriation bill totalling N615,857,950 billion, Neusroom understand.
Zulum signed the bill into law on Monday during a ceremony held at the Council Chamber of Government House in the state capital, Maiduguri.
The Governor stressed that critical state projects earmarked for completition in 2023 will be catered for under the budget tagged “Budget of Recovery and Continuity.”
The budget estimate of N584.76bn was presented to the State House of Assembly on December 9, 2024 and passed on December 24, 2024.
Neusrm gather that an increase of N31bn was made on the budget.
“This year is very important for me because I want to complete all the promises I made during 2023 electioneering campaigns,” the Governor said.
Zulum warned the heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and members of the state executive council to ensure that their memos presented for approval are in line with the provisions of the bill.
“We have to commend the leadership of the House of Assembly, we also have to commend the maturity of the House led by our able Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan.
“This is very important because all the developmental strides achieved could not have been possible without the full support and cooperation received by the government from the legislature,” he said.
Whille the Governor hailed the House for passing the bill, the Senator in turn hailed the Governor for showing leadership abilities, while explaining the upward review of the appropriation bill as necessary for the project executions.
