Police bust gang selling Indian hemp to prison inmates in Lagos

Two alleged members of a drug syndicate, Ikuomola Abolade and Sodeeq Yunusa, were busted on Sunday while attempting to sell marijuana to inmates of the Ikoyi Prison in Lagos.

Abolade, 22, and Yunusa, a prison inmate standing trial for alleged robbery, were arrested after they were reportedly seen throwing some packages into the Ikoyi Prisons facility by spies.

A third suspect was said to have escaped.

A little boy who was part of the intelligence team at the prison was said to have alerted officials of the prison, the drug unit and the police to the suspects’ activities.
