Marijuana dealers brutalise family members over missing stock in Ondo
About 40 men who are believed to be Marijuana dealers have grossly brutalized a family in Bolorunduro area of Ondo state over a missing stash of indian hemp they hid in the victims’ farm.
The hoodlums who insisted that they had put away some bags of marijuana in the farmland belonging to one Martina Christoper, were outraged on the disappearance of their stock.
Narrating their ordeal, Martina disclosed that the men who arrived in about 15 motorcycles had beaten her brother, Isaac Akpan to stupor by the time she reached the farm. She had rushed back to get their father only to be told that Isaac had been taken away to Ilu-Abo.
“I then went to Ilu-Abo in company with our father, only to see my brother mercilessly beaten and injured; and immediately the hoodlums saw us, they descended on us and beat me and my father to a pulp, demanding to know the whereabouts of the bags of Indian hemp kept on our farm,” she said.
They were beaten into unconsciousness by the unforgiving men who were adamant to their pleas. The hoodlums had threatened to wipe out the family if they don’t produce the marijuana.
Fearing for their own safety, Martina’s husband, Mr. Christopher revealed that he had gotten the police at Oba Ile, Akure involved in the issue to avert any further harm that may arise from the threat on his family.
The case has been recommended for transfer to the Criminal Investigation Department of the state by the Police Commissioner, Mr Gbenga Adeyanju for proper investigation.
