Police arrests daredevil robbers who caused mayhem in Offa
Barely three weeks after the Nigeria Police Force circulated pictures of four suspects who were captured by closed-circuit camera while unleashing terror during a robbery attack in Offa, Kwara State, two suspects have been arrested.
It would be recalled that on Thursday, April 5, no fewer than five banks were raided during the incident which caused panic in the state.
The suspects taken into custody are: Kunle Ogunleye (a.k.a. Arrow), a native of Kwara State, and Micheal Adikwu, a native of Apa Local Government Area, Benue State.
Adikwu was said to be a former SARS officer who was dismissed for misconduct.
According to a statement by PRNigeria, a media relations firm known for its coverage of the security sector, Ogunleye, 35, was arrested on Sunday in Oro, Kwara State.
“All suspects arrested among others have confessed their roles in the Offa carnage,” PRNigeria said.
“They are assisting the IRT teams in arresting more of the bank robbers as the police continue the investigation.”
