Condoms “too small” for Venda men, reports say
The South African Department of Health has reportedly received complaints about the size of many condoms on sale in the country.
Many of the complainants, reports say, are from the Venda tribe, one of the minority groups in South Africa.
“Some Venda youth are complaining that the condoms they are being given, some of them are too short, their organs can’t fit in them,” a health official is quoted to have said.
There are fears that the situation “exposes our young boys and girls, and all those users of condoms, to the acquiring of HIV and AIDS”.
Department of Health report said the Government of South Africa would push for better condom supplies and bigger sizes to Limpopo Venda and Sunny Side Pretoria.
