Police arrest 16-year-old secondary school pupil for stabbing mate to death in Ekiti
The 16-year-old student of Ado Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, accused of killing his mate while testing supernatural powers has been remanded in custody.
Kehinde Timilehin allegedly axed Favour Matthew to death at the school premises last Thursday.
Both students were reported to be testing who had the most effective charm shortly after school hours when Timilehin seized an axe and stabbed the deceased in his chest.
Timilehin was arraigned before the an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (today) and the court heard the charge.
His plea was not taken, as Chief Magistrate Adesoji Adegboye said he needed advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.
Adegboye ordered that he should be kept at the state Children Correctional Centre, pending the DPP’s advice.
The case has been adjourned till January 18, 2019 for mention.
