Barack Obama endorses Kamala Harris as the 46th President of the US
Former U.S. President Barack Obama has officially endorsed Kamala Harris’s bid for the White House.
The endorsement, announced on Friday via social media platform X, would significantly boost Harris’s campaign as she prepares to face off against Donald Trump in November.
Barack Obama, who served as the 44th President from 2009-2017 and the first of the black race, shared his enthusiasm for Harris in a message that highlighted his and his wife Michelle’s backing.
“Earlier this week, Michelle and I reached out to our friend @KamalaHarris,” he wrote. “We told her we believe she will make an outstanding President of the United States and that she has our full support.”

The former President emphasized the importance of Harris’s campaign, stating, “At this critical moment for our country, we’re committed to doing everything we can to ensure her victory in November. We hope you’ll join us in supporting her.”

Harris’s campaign has gained substantial traction since her unexpected entry into the race following President Joe Biden’s decision to step down on Sunday, July 21. Biden’s endorsement of Harris last Sunday had already set the stage for a competitive race against Trump, but Obama’s endorsement adds a crucial layer of support. Kamala Harris expressed her gratitude for Obama’s endorsement and shared her enthusiasm on social media platform.
It means so much to have your endorsements, @MichelleObama and @BarackObama.

The 59-year-old Harris, who is making a historic bid to become the first female President, has been actively campaigning with sharp critiques of Trump and his “extremist” Republican supporters. Obama’s endorsement lends significant weight to Harris’s campaign and also signals a renewed push for voter support as the election approaches.
