NITEL workers, fire fighters extinguish NECOM House fire
NECOM House in Marina area of Lagos State could have suffered heavy damage from fire, Tuesday evening.
Fire broke out at the 32nd floor of the imposing building but was immediately arrested by those who work in the building. The workers had help from fire fighters who reportedly responded to the situation on time.
The building is home to NatCom Consortium which recently acquired NITEL (or MTEL).
The last thing anyone wants during harmattan is a fire incident as the dry weather helps flames burn longer.
Smoke could be seen rising from the building before workers and fire fighters contained the situation.
A citizen reporter saw the smoke, and took the photos we used in this story.
The shots were taken around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
