MTN Foundation Hosts Youths To Virtual Training In ICT And Business Skills

MTN Foundation, through its ICT and Business Skills Training 2020 held its first instructor-led session to enhance employability and entrepreneurial capacity at a virtual workshop on November 12.

Kenneth Awom, a Digital Marketer and Google certified trainer, instructed participants on ‘Using Marketing Tools and Social Media to Grow Your Business’. Participants were exposed to the rudiments of Digital Marketing and setting up Google Business accounts to leverage social media channels for growth. ‘Google my Business’ is a free tool that allows business owners to manage how their business appears on Google Search and Maps and the benefits inherent.

Speaking on optimizing and planning a digital marketing strategy, Kenneth said, “staying competitive with Google my Business involves making informed marketing decisions, learning from the successes and mistakes of others, understanding what services to offer customers and identifying how to stand out from the crowd.”

The training workshop was implemented in partnership with partners including Oracle, Google, KPMG, IBM, and Digital Bridge Institute.
The ICT and Business Skills initiative in its fourth phase complements government efforts at promoting sustainable socio-economic development in Nigeria. Till date, 1,933 young people have been trained across Oyo, Kano, Imo, Nasarawa and Rivers States.
