Mother, 3 children killed by unknown assailants in church building in Lagos
Three children and their mother have lost their lives to an attack by unknown assailants in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.
The incident occurred in an uncompleted church building at Agbowa early Wednesday morning, State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni disclosed.
“The incident happened at about 3 am this morning at Agbowa in Ikorodu,” the CP said.
“The three murdered children were aged four, five and nine.
“The mother of the children was also wounded and later died in the hospital.”
Mr. Owoseni said the police was yet to identify the motive behind the murder.
He said the command had swung into action in bringing the hoodlums to book, NAN reports.
“We want to seize this opportunity to assure the public that we will continue to increase our visibility,” he said.
Ikorodu and its environs has become a hotbed of criminal attacks in the past months, and residents continue to call on the state government to effectively check the menace.
