Man rapes, kills trader on her farm in Ondo
A trader identified as Lydia Ayeni, has been raped and killed on her farm in Ipe Akoko, in the Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Ayeni, who had gone to work on her farm on Wednesday, February 28, was said to have been raped on the farm by one Isaac Ojo, who later killed her on the said date.
Ayeni’s lifeless body was found in the bush after a search party was organised to look for her when she didn’t return home.
A village source said, “There was blood in her private parts. We saw signs that she struggled with somebody in the bush.
“It was later discovered that it was Ojo that carried out the dastardly act and he was arrested.”
Ojo has since been remanded in prison custody by a Magistrate’s Court in Akure, Ondo State.
According to Martins Olowofeso, Ayeni died after Ojo hit her with a stone in the head.
The magistrate, Victoria Bob-Manuel, however, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
