Man arrested for impersonating Army General in Port Harcourt
The EFCC has apprehended an alleged impostor, identified as Adesola Bucknor, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Buckor allegedly impersonated an Army General, Brigadier General Dawuk Danfulani of the 6 Division Garrison, by claiming to have “appointed” the Rivers State University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Blessing Diba, as Chief Command Patron of the Nigerian Army Chaplain Service.
He allegedly signed the “Appointment Letter” in the name of Brigadier Danfulani, having forged the logo of the Nigerian Army Chaplain Services and signed the document accordingly.
In the letter, Bucknor solicited for financial support for the entertainment of guests invited to the installation of Dibia, as well as a thanksgiving ceremony after his installation.
Several incriminating documents establishing the offence were said to have been discovered at his Port Harcourt residence when a search was conducted.
The EFCC said Bucknor has also admitted committing the crime and will soon be charged to court.
