Man, 22, rapes girl, 13, says he “only wanted to deflower her”
A suspected rapist, Chukwuebuka Nnaji has been arrested in Niger State for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.
Nnaji allegedly lured the victim to a hotel at Madalla Junction, with the promise that he had a gift for her.
The 22-year-old suspect allegedly dragged the girl to an isolated area in the bush and raped her.
Nnaji, a shop attendant, told the police that he never intended to impregnate his victim and only wanted to deflower her.
“I knew she is an underage girl; that was the reason why I have not impregnated her. I want her to be of age, so I can marry her,” he said.
“I had sex with her because I wanted to deflower her but it has dawned on me that I was simply infatuated.”
The state police spokesperson, Muhammad Abubakar, said the suspect would soon be arraigned in court.
