#LagosAPCPrimaries: Babajide Sanwo-Olu declared winner at Abesan Ward
Newsroom can exclusively report that Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been declared winner of the APC primary election in Abesan ward, Alimosho area of Lagos State.
We can confirm that there was no voting process. Party members had threatened to deal with any member willing to vote for the incumbent Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Hundreds of members were still on queue expecting to be counted when the winner was declared.
The agent, surrounded by councillors and top members of the party, just declared the result. “We have counted it, Sanwo-Olu has won,” she shouted, as she was guided out of the voting centre by top party members.
Members were immediately thrown into jubilant mood, singing and dancing as they made their way out of the voting centre.
Party agents were seen telling members that there is money to be shared when the Senatorial election involving Yayi takes place tomorrow.
“We are going to pay the money together,” the agent promised members after the declaration of Sanwo-Olu as winner.
