Lagos: Sex-starved banker’s wife disappears after revealing intention to commit suicide
A 36-year-old woman has been declared missing after threatening to take her life over lack of sexual intimacy with her husband.
Nkiruka Okani, a native of Nsukka, is said to have suffered and endured constant beating and sex denial for two years by her husband.
Okani reportedly disappeared after sending a text message to her sister that reads: “It seems that you don’t understand what I am passing through over here, I want to leave this world so that every thing will end. Bye bye, See you in the next world, thank you for the ones that you have done, May God bless you.”
Okani, before her disappearance, alleged that trouble started in her household when her husband of seven years began to date his boss. Her husband, Raymond, is a staff of May Fresh Mortgage Bank in Lagos.
She claimed he stopped sleeping with her as punishment for two years at their residence on 511 Road, Gowon Estate in Egbeda, Lagos after several quarrels.
He would constantly return home late from work and blame it on busy schedule at work, she claimed. The mother of three also alleged that she was ordered to move all her property from their bedroom and restricted to their children’s room.
Raymond, 41, was last week charged before a Lagos court for allegedly battering Nkiruka and abducting their three children. He was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
His boss reportedly stood as his surety and secured his bail. The case was still pending in court.
“What would make Nkiruka to contemplate to take her life was a known fact before the police and the judiciary in Lagos State,” Okani’s sister has said.
Okani’s whereabouts remain unknown.
