Kaduna Governor, El-Rufai becomes 90th person to test positive for COVID-19 in Nigeria
Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has become the second Nigerian state governor to test positive for COVID-19.
The governor made the announcement on Saturday evening.
He also revealed that he is in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the NCDC “for a someone that is not showing symptoms.”
The governor further appealed to the people of Kaduna State to continue to closely observe the preventive measures already announced.
“It is most important that everybody should do their utmost to stay safe, stay home and stay alive,” he said.
Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed had tested positive for COVID-19 four days ago, after coming in contact with Muhammed Atiku Abubakar, the son of Nigeria’s former vice president who has also tested positive for the virus.

The Nigeria Center For Disease Control (NCDC), announced on Saturday afternoon that Nigeria has officially recorded 89 cases of the virus, with no case recorded in Kaduna. El-Rufai is the first in the state to contract the virus and 90th in the country.
