Husband attacks wife, severs two of her fingers
A 42-year-old man, Idowu Benson has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly attacking his wife Kemi Idowu and cutting off her two fingers on Sunday.
Benson had allegedly attacked Kemi at his residence at Oba-Ile by pretending to be a hired assassin.
The suspect, disguised with a mask and armed with a machete, was said to have told his wife that he was sent to kill her. He allegedly attempted to cut off her head but cut off her two fingers in the process.
“The suspect left the house with the two fingers, while the woman was rolling on the floor in pain,” a source is quoted as saying.
The source also added that the neighbors who got to the scene and called the police were attracted by the cry of Kemi. The Policemen who came to the scene were said to have seen Benson’s mobile phone on the ground.
Femi Joseph, the police Spokesman of the state said the suspect blamed the devil for the act, but had not informed them where he kept the two fingers.
