Hospital Break: Lassa fever patient escapes from Nigerian medical facility!

All we know about the patient is that he’s male.
Health minister Isaac Adewole who announced the “hospital break” on Tuesday did not identify the escapee patient further.
Adewole, during a meeting of the National Council on Health in Abuja. said he received a text message the patient escaped from a hospital in Ebonyi State.

He has since charged the health ministry to find the escapee patient.
Since its latest outbreak, Lassa fever has killed at least 43 people in Nigeria.
The fever is called by the Lassa virus which is carried by multi-breasted rats. It can also be spread from humans to other humans.

Also, discard all food items partly eaten by rats. Do not eat food contaminated with rat faeces or urine. You can use covered plastic buckets to keep your foods away from rats.
If anyone shows the symptoms of Lassa fever, do not treat them yourself. Report such cases to the health authorities. They will treat the patients free of charge..
