It’s 640 days since Boko Haram terrorists abducted over 200 Nigerian schoolgirls from the apparent safety of their dormitory in Chibok, Borno State of Nigeria.

The globally condemned kidnapping took place on April 14, 2014 while Goodluck Jonathan was president. He was unable to rescue them. And Nigerians kicked him out of Aso Rock.

Jonathan’s successor, Muhammadu Buhari – who rode into office promising to reunite the girls with their devastated parents – says he doesn’t know if the girls are still alive. But a journalist who claims to have contacts with Boko Haram insists the girls are not dead.

The Nigerian Army, against Buhari’s inauguration promise, has gone ahead to declare victory over Boko Haram while the schoolgirls are still in terrorist captivity.

Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaigners don’t seem to buy into Buhari’s narrative.

Former education minister and BBOG leader, Obiageli Ezekwesili, continues to remind Buhari Nigeria cannot lay claim to victory against terror until our girls are home and safe.

No less than 19 Chibok parents have died since their teenage daughters were kidnapped. The reason for their death? Your guess is as good as mine.

We cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents

– Muhammadu Buhari,

May 29, 2015.

Boko Haram said it had radicalised the girls into female terrorists. There are fears some of them are being used as suicide bombers. Some of them, most actually, may have been raped. The terrorists have since kidnapped other girls from Nigeria’s northeast, and some of these are “freed” with baby bumps.

It’s unthinkable what Boko Haram, a sect that has pledged allegiance to Islamic State (ISIS) monsters, would do to teenage girls.

It’s also unthinkable that almost a year after Buhari moved into Aso Rock he can’t assure Nigerians the schoolgirls will be rescued.

Chibok parents are marching in Abuja against these “unthinkables” today (Thursday, January 14, 2016), and Buhari had better get to work.

I heard the military attempted barring 65 of these parents from attending the rally, but that has been clarified. The Army only wanted to give them “protective escort.” Hmmm. Na so.

Without any anti-our-valiant-soldiers thought, I stand with the BBOG group that we cannot declare victory against the terrorist until the Chibok girls are rescued alive.
