“Epp me…I have children”: Fearing sanction, police officer begs woman whose car was hit by “celebration” bullet
July 10, 2016
One of the police officers involved in a senseless jubilation over a bank posting in Aguda area of Lagos State seemed to be regaining his senses.
When they were posted to guard Stanbic IBTC Bank in the area, the pictured officer and his colleagues celebrated by shooting into the air.
The officers reportedly had some alcohol before the shooting which sent fear into the hearts of people in the area.
One of their bullets hit a car belonging to mother of three Olufunke Phillips as she drove pass the area.
The matter was reported to the police with an officer allegedly saying: “Madam, why you sef no wind up?”
In simpler terms: “Even if the bullet killed you, Phillips, it’s your fault because you didn’t wind up.”
Fortunately for civility, the issue has now reached police headquarters in Abuja. The officer pictured in the post has been ordered to come explain himself as well as identify his colleagues involved in the shameful incident.
The police has promised to take “immediate and necessary action”.
But in an apparent attempt to emotionally blackmail Phillips, the officer has allegedly called to beg her for a favour.
Phillips said the officer’s pleas are nothing but “emotional blackmail” and lots of her Facebook friends agree.
One commenter “begged” Phillips to “have mercy”. He got some replies.
