“Enyeama is lying,” Oliseh tells Nigerians, gets NFF backing
Super Eagles most capped player Vincent Enyeama has quit the national team.
Enyeama who played 101 games for the national side left the stage amid a captaincy row with coach Sunday Oliseh.
Enyeama just lost his mother. He said Oliseh disrespected her memory.
The coach said Emyeama lied about that part. He said at least 19 other people could bear witness to his own side of the story.
“To say the least; I am very hurt and disappointed at the character assassination Vincent (Enyeama) has taken on my personality as regards this issue,” Oliseh said in an interview on Friday.
The real “issue” here seems to be the fact that Oliseh has appointed 22-year-old forward Ahmed Musa his new skipper, dropping Enyeama in the process.
Some pundits, however, say Oliseh removed Enyeama in “a very bad way.”

In the midst of the row, Enyeama announced his exit from the national side.
“If you want to retire, do so but don’t drag in somebody or insult people who did nothing,” Oliseh said.
“He (Enyeama) wanted to say something; and I said this is not the time for that because we just had a talk on how to improve our game, we will discuss private matters afterwards.
“He said no, he wanted to say something and I said no also I don’t want you to say anything now, please sit down we can talk later but he was adamant and he started raising his voice against me.

“It was then I told him that with all due respect, this is the Super Eagles and I am the coach and we are not going to have two coaches, I am to decide who talks and when… If you refuse to accept what I say, then it is better you go out. He was still adamant and trying to raise his voice.
“It was then I said it is either you leave or we (the team) leave the room for you. He refused and then I told him I will order him to be taken out because he was even stopping his teammates from having their dinner,” Oliseh said.

Oliseh said it was then other players like Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi and Ahmed Musa intervened and helped Enyeama out of the room.
Enyeama had reportedly claimed he was escorted and locked out by security men.
