Close Shave! 3 Brazilian players who didn’t travel devastated over death of colleagues in plane crash
3 Brazilian players who would have travelled with their team members for the Copa Sudamerica finals against Atletico Nacional on Wednesday in Medellin, are devastated at the news of the plane crash that has claimed the lives of their colleagues.
Feelings of anguish and shock overwhelmed the three players, who missed death by a whisker as they couldn’t travel with their colleagues due to injuries and suspension. They have been pictured sitting in the dressing room in disbelief at the turn of events.
Of the 22-man squad aboard the ill-fated British Aerospace 146 short-haul plane, only 3 of the players have been rescued alive.
Other passengers aboard the charter plane – including 28 support staff, 22 journalists and 9 crew members – have been confirmed dead.
The first leg of the final of the cup which is South America’s second most important club competition, has been suspended.
