Children of slain Abuja preacher get free education, RCCG relocates entire family to Redemption Camp

Pastor Elisha Olawale, widower of slain Abuja preacher Eunice, now lives with his children at Redemption Camp.

After Eunice was killed by suspected Islamic extremists, the Nigerian police are yet to name any suspect.

Olawale led a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) branch in Kubwa, Abuja, where his wife was hacked to death.

A family source told NewsroomNG on Wednesday RCCG — one of the richest, most popular and influential churches in the world — gave scholarship to Olawale’s seven children.

“I can confirm to you the family now lives at Redemption Camp,” the source said.

“All of them, from the ones in primary school and the ones in secondary school now attend Christ Redeemers College (CRC) in Ogun State. In fact, they just resumed there on Monday.”

CRC is supervised by Pastor Foluke, wife of RCCG general overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye who had promised the church would take care of Olawale and the children.

The family source who spoke with our correspondent said the church didn’t want to blow its own trumpet.

“They didn’t want to make noise about it in order to keep Pastor Olawale and his children away from the eyes of the media after the sad occurrence,” he said.

Eunice was killed on July 9 and buried July 23, the day she would have clocked 42.

The family source said he couldn’t stop wondering why the police, despite promising heaven on earth, were yet to apprehend Eunice’s killers.

To help catch Eunice’s killers, RCCG reportedly paid N1.5 million for her autopsy.

The police said it arrested six suspects in connection to the case but failed to name them. The police never paraded the suspects before the media because “the case is being handled discreetly”.

The police later said those arrested were found innocent.

The sultan's comments comes at a time Nigeria mourns a Christian woman allegedly killed by angry Muslims.
