Slain Abuja megaphone preacher Eunice Olawale has been buried but the police are yet to find the people who stabbed her to death.

She was killed on July 9 and buried on July 23, the day she would’ve celebrated her 42nd birthday.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Alkali Usman, in a statement on July 10 said he had ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to lead a discreet investigation into Eunice’s murder.

“Six suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder are in police custody and currently undergoing interrogation,” Usman said in the statement signed by FCT police spokesperson Manzah Anjuguri.

“The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” Usman said.

The police never paraded the suspects before the media. Perhaps that had something to do with the discreetness of the “investigation”.

No, they didn’t.

Usman now says the police are yet to find Eunice’s killers. The comments mean police believes the six suspects arrested 24 hours after Eunice’s killing were clean.

Usman said on Wednesday: “As for the murder of Deaconess Eunice, we are also on it; we have not been able to break through to the case, but as I said earlier, investigation of these cases is not something that we can rest on our oars until the culprits are identified and arrested.

“It is not something that I want to say in the media, so as not to jeopardize investigation, but it is something that we will continue to investigate until we are able to arrest the culprits and bring them to justice.”

Eunice was a deaconess at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) where her husband Elisha Olawale pastors.

No thanks to Eunice's killers, Mr Elisha is now widowed with seven mouths to feed.

RCCG paid N1.5 million for Eunice’s autopsy to help the police find the cause of her death, and her killers.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says it would not rest until justice is served. Bring Back Our Girls campaigner Oby Ezekwesili who also worships at RCCG made the same vow..
