Blackmail: Couple “drug, rape and share woman’s sex video online to avoid repaying loan”
A couple has landed in trouble for allegedly raping, filming and blackmailing a married woman.
Obinna and Chinyere Arthur, who are facing charges on blackmail, invited a friend’s wife to Greenland hotel in the Egbeda area of Lagos and drugged her drink.
Obinna, 32, was said to have forcefully have sex with the unconscious woman, while his wife filmed the act with her phone, without showing his face.
The couple allegedly sent the video out on social media afterwards.
The couple, who moved to Lagos from Anambra last year, were said to have carried out the criminal act to blackmail the woman and her husband, identified as Kenneth.
According to the reports, Kenneth had loaned Obinna a sum of N1.2 million to import clothes, and when it was time to return the money, Obinna couldn’t provide it.
He then sought to blackmail his friend into giving up on the money.
The couple pleaded not guilty to crime during their arraignment at the Ejigbo Magistrate’s court.
They were granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum by the presiding Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola.
