Ben Bruce: “Humiliated” UNILAG students are “hungry thugs” – Nigerians react
Just when we thought the apology from Senator Ben Bruce laid this matter to rest…
Ben Bruce invited students of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos (UNILAG), to his 60th birthday and book launch.
One of the students later wrote Ben Bruce’s handlers treated them like second class guests. They were not served food like the other “elite” guests were served. They also were not given free copies of the senator’s book “The Common Sense Revolution”. The student said they were “humiliated”.
Ben Bruce has apologised for the incident and has offered to give the students free copies of the book which is also available for free online download.

But “Facebookish” Nigerians are not done with the controversy. Some of them took to a social media thread to suggest to students were angry because they missed out on the jollof rice. And that’s one of the “mild” comments.
