Banker, 30, “repeatedly drugs, rapes orphan; impregnates her”
A 13-year-old orphan has pointed accusing fingers at Chidi Agu, a banker, who she claimed drugged her repeatedly in order to sleep with her.
Agu, 30, had allegedly been sexually assaulting the victim since she began serving his in-law, a pastor, as a maid.
The suspect’s actions, according to the maid, began sometime in 2017 when the pastor travelled.
A neighbour who noticed the teenager’s growing stomach, drew the attention of the pastor and his wife to it, after which the victim was taken to a hospital for medical checkup.
A test conducted on the orphan, confirmed that she’s already carrying a five months pregnancy.
During interrogation, she confessed that Agu was responsible for the pregnancy.
The victim’s uncle, John Inyang who reported the case to the police, revealed that his niece had been living with the pastor and his wife since her parents died.
Inyang stressed that he was told by the girl that each time the pastor and his family travelled, Agu took advantage of her.
According to Inyang, each time the victim was given drink by Agu, she would sleep off and by the time she woke up, she would see blood all over her private parts.
Inyang said, “I was approached by a member of my church that the pastor’s wife needed someone to help her around the house. He asked me to give them my niece and promised to take care of her.
“I released her to the pastor and his family took care of her as they promised. But Chidi (Agu), who is the pastor’s wife’s brother, usually visited them. He started to take advantage of her whenever they travelled.
“The girl told me that each time Chidi gave her a drink, she would sleep off. By the time she woke up, she would see blood all over her private parts. She said she could not explain what happened to her until it happened the second time.
“This continued until she became pregnant. The girl said he even attempted to abort for her by giving her drugs which she refused.”
Inyang disclosed that the victim revealed to him how Agu often threatened her not to disclose the sexual abuse to anyone.
One neighbour said Agu has not been able to pay a N10,000 sum he was billed for her upkeep until she is delivered of the baby.
