Armed robbers murder former Commissioner for Education
A former Commissioner for Education in Katsina state, Prof. Halimatu Sa’adiya Idris, has been murdered by armed robbers along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway on Sunday.
The attack occurred near Gidan Busa village, located between Jere and Kateri along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
According to reports, the robbers attacked travelers on the busy road yesterday, killing scores of the travelers and allegedly abducting some of them.
Professor Idris is being buried in Kaduna today (Monday) in accordance with Islamic rites.
She was Katsina Education Commissioner until December 2014.
