Alleged rapist lures 16-year-old secondary school student through Facebook, demands ransom
An alleged rapist and abductor of a 16-year-old secondary school student has landed in police net in Benin, Edo State.
Vincent Idumonyi had allegedly lured the teenager to a hotel about four weeks after they started exchanging messages on Facebook.
He allegedly proceeded to rape her several times and locked her in for three days as he demanded half a million Naira ransom from her family. The family had reportedly sent almost N400,000 to the suspect before he was traced to his hideout by the police.
Idumonyi was said to have told the police that he raped his victim twice after threatening to stab her with a knife and inject her with a deadly substance.
