4, 8 or 100? How many people died in Nnewi, Anambra explosions?
Three industrial gas tanks exploded in Nnewi, Anambra State, on Thursday.
Chume Ibeabuchi, who oversees records at the local Red Cross, told CNN only four people died in the tragedy.
The Red Cross official also said four other persons were injured.
Anambra state police spokesperson, Ali Okechukwu, told the NAN eight people died in the tragedy.
He said two bodies, a mother and her baby, were recovered from a building near the gas plant.

After the incident, six persons were confirmed dead outside the perimeter fencing of the company.
Two other bodies of a woman and her child were later found dead in an adjourning building.
Six other persons who were seriously injured were also rushed to the University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, and later referred to the hospital in Enugu.
Reports had spread on Thursday that about 100 people were burnt to death in the tragedy.
