24-year old okada rider crushed to death by truck driver in Lagos
A 24-year old Aliyu Abubakar who is a motorcyclist has been crushed to death by a tipper in Alapere area of Lagos State just two days after he celebrated his birthday.
The Chairman of the Association of Okada riders in Branch A, Agboyi, Ketu, Adeleke Adegboyega who spoke to reporters said he was contacted about the accident, and he immediately sent some of his members to the scene to stop the angry mobs from destroying the tipper and he also contacted the Police to also go to the venue to restore peace.
Adeboyega said, “When I was informed of the accident, I called some members who went there. They calmed down our members who wanted to destroy the tipper that killed Abubakar. The police took the corpse to their station. The body was released to the family for burial after necessary steps were taken.”
Another eyewitness said Abubakar had celebrated his birthday on October 8th and died two days after the birthday; adding also that the cause of the accident was a porthole the truck tried to avoid before it ran into the motorcyclist that had overtaken it successfully. “The motorcyclist somersaulted and sustained serious injuries. His right leg broke into while w the passenger sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
