21 Boko Haram terrorists killed in Adamawa military raid

Nigerian Army troops have reportedly killed 21 Boko Haram terrorists during a joint operation targeting a terrorist camp in the Kopre Mountain general area of Hong LGA, Adamawa State.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, reported that the operation took place between the early hours of August 26 and August 27 after the military received credible intelligence about the presence of Boko Haram members in the area.

“Military sources told Zagazola Makama that following the intelligence, the troops moved into the general area by stealth between 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 and 4:10 a.m. on Aug. 27 and subsequently launched an assault on the terrorists at their camp around Kopre Mountain,” Makama said.

“Military sources said the operation resulted in the death of 21 Boko Haram terrorists, while some others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds.

“The troops also destroyed the terrorist camp, including their logistics and other items found at the location.

“Several weapons and ammunition were recovered during the operation, including AK-47 rifles, AK-47 magazines and 7.62mm special ammunition.”

According to Makama, the troops also destroyed several motorcycles, bicycles and jerrycans containing premium motor spirit (PMS) belonging to the terrorists.
