10 refugees, including 5 children, drown off Turkey’s Aegean coast

The refugees, about 53 in all, were heading to the Greek island of Lesbos when their boat capsized in the Aegean Sea, Saturday morning.
The boat was carrying refugess from Syria, Afghanistan and Myanmar when it overturned off Bademli coast, western Turkey, Turkish media reports.
43 of the refugees were rescued from the sea by the Turkish coast guard. But five children and five others could not be saved. They drowned.
On Thursday, 24 people, including 10 children, died in similar circumstances off Greece’s Samos island.
According to reports from the coast guard, over 80,000 refugees were saved off Turkish coasts in 2015 alone while more than 3,000 died on their way to Greek islands via Turkey..
