Youth corps member lands job after 14-day bicycle ride from Oyo to Benue state
A 14-day “patriotic tour” on his bicycle has earned a former youth corps member, Mr. Isaac Sekav Ahungwa automatic employment with the Benue State government.
On the completion of his National Youth Service programme, an excited Ahungwa mounted his bicycle and rode from Oyo State to Makurdi, the state capital to present his certificate of discharge to the state governor.
Ahungwa, a graduate of Statistics from Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, was welcomed by Governor Samuel Ortom who hailed the ‘journey man’s determination as one to be emulated by others.

Upon embarking on the trip from Ibadan to Makurdi on November 5th, Ahungwa’s intention was to show that Nigerians can only overcome recession with hard work, belief, perseverance, and determination.
Ortom on his part, said his decision to offer automatic employment to Ahungwa was to encourage other young people to never give up on their dreams, no matter the challenges they face.
