200,000 Nigerian graduates to be employed in December

The Federal Government is set to fulfill its promise to employ at least half a million Nigerians as two-hundred thousand (200,000) graduates are now expected to land jobs in December due to an employment scheme.

The scheme which had been promised by the Buhari-led administration upon assumption of office in 2015, will finally commence December 1, 2016, with deployment of 200,000 candidates for the first batch already in full swing.

It comes after a year-and-half of criticisms directed at the government for not fulfilling several of its campaign promises.

A statement from the office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday revealed that, “All is now set for the deployment of 200,000 unemployed graduates selected in the first batch of the Buhari administration’s plan to hire half a million Nigerians.”

It further stated that the names of the selected candidates had been sent to all the state governments and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, who would deploy them to their specific programme assignments in various communities.

Lucky employees are expected to start receiving congratulatory SMS messages informing them of their selection in earnest, while their names would also be published this week on the NPower portal.
