Suspected cultists rob youth corps member in Bayelsa, slice his hand off
During an attack at a Corpers’ Lodge in Sagbama area of Bayelsa State last Sunday, a youth corps member identified as Luntis Julius was thrown into a state of agony after his hand was sliced off.
The culprits stormed the Corpers’ Lodge and severed Julius’ hand with a machete.
Confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat said three suspects linked to the attack have been arrested.
The suspects were also said to have went away with the victim’s laptop and mobile phones.
Speaking on the attack, a corps member who preferred anonymity, lamented the security lapses in most of the Corpers’ Lodges in the State.
“Most of the Corpers’ Lodges are at the mercy of armed hoodlums and thieves.
“Sometimes, female corps members are harassed on a daily basis,” the corps member said.
