Despite the advantages and benefits that come with the constant evolution of the marketing and communications industry in Nigeria, there are still major barriers that hinder progress in the field. X3M Ideas, a Pan-African creative advertising agency is determined to propel the change in advertising with its ‘Idea Hackathon 1.0’.

Launched as part of the agency’s 10th-anniversary celebration, the purpose of the Hackathon is to combat the major problems in the marketing and communications industry and proffer plausible solutions to them.

With the grand prize set at one million Naira, X3M Ideas is opening its doors to all between the age of 18 and 40 to identify major hurdles in the marketing and communications industry and provide feasible solutions to tackle them. The Hackathon will consist of three stages:

  • Stage One – This is the entry stage where contestants will submit their applications via the Ideas Hackathon website. They will be required to share a synopsis of the solution to their earlier identified problem.
  • Stage Two – 40 participants who have identified the most qualitative problems will progress to the final stage.
  • Stage Three – At the final stage, the contestants (teams and individuals) would be made to pitch their scalable solutions to identified panellists. The panel will consist of reputable individuals in the industry. The participant with the most innovative and scalable idea will win the grand prize.
