Woman allegedly murders husband with stool in Zamfara
The Zamfara State Police Command arrested a woman, Salamatu Shehu, on Saturday, for allegedly killing her husband.
The command’s spokesman, SP Muhammad Shehu, stated this in a statement in Gusau on Saturday.
Shehu said the incident occurred on June 27, when the native of Rafin-Gona village in the Anka Local Government Area and her husband were fighting and she allegedly hit him with a stool.
Also, the command said it arrested a suspected notorious bandit in Gurusu town in the Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the state.
Shehu said that the arrest was made on Friday after receiving information that bandits were in the area.
He stated, “We received a distress call from the area that there were bandits in the bush near Gurusu village.
“The area commander of Anka police area command mobilised and led a team of police mobilemen for bush combing operation in the area which lasted for hours. The operation led to the arrest of the suspect.
“A locally-made gun with two live cartridges and one operational motorcycle were recovered from the suspect.”
According to him, all the suspects are in police custody and will be charged to court after investigation.
