President Muhammadu Buhari was left with no option than to take the COVID-19 test after his closest aide and Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, tested positive.

Buhari’s test was carried out on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC) after Kyari’s COVID-19 status heightened fears that he may have transmitted the deadly virus to the President and more people at the Aso Villa in Abuja.

Kyari travelled to Germany earlier this month where he is presumed to have contracted the disease.

During his visit to Germany, on March 7th, he represented Buhari at meetings with Siemens group on the Nigeria electricity expansion programme.
