Why I won’t be running for President again – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has given a reason why he won’t be contesting for the post of president come 2019.

Fayose, according to NAN, told former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and former ministerTaminu Turaki who were his guests in Ekiti on Saturday (today), that he has let go of his ambition as a mark of solidarity with his deputy Kolapo Olusola-Eleka.

Eleka lost the Ekiti gubernatorial election to APC’s Kayode Fayemi in July. Fayose had said before the election that he was nursing the ambition of leading the country.

“I dropped the presidential ambition because of the stolen mandate freely given to my deputy. As a good leader, I cannot abandon my loyal deputy whose mandate was stolen by the APC and be pursuing another ambition,” he told his guests today.

“My posters are there in a room. I am committed to the recovery of the mandate, for now, more than anything else,” he added.
