WATCH: Trigger-happy policemen shoot unarmed man dead in Benin (Graphic)
Some unidentified trigger-happy policemen on Tuesday (today) shot dead an unarmed young man in Benin, Edo State.
A witness said the officers had stormed the area to raid and harass innocent young men, forcing them to lay on the ground.
In the incident captured on camera, a young man can be seen attempting to flee from the officers and instead of them giving him a chase, they shot him point blank.
The officers have not been identified.
The appointment of new police Inspector General Mohammed Adamu has not filled Nigerians with confidence in the Force, particularly as he ordered that SARS operatives should henceforth receive orders from Police Commissioners across all states.
It remains to be seen if this particular incident would be properly addressed and the officers would be punished.
