Suspected political thugs disrupted collation of election results at Western Boys High School in Edo State on Sunday, TheCable reports.
The thugs, according to witnesses, prevented electoral officials from taking in results for collation.
Security operatives at the scene were helpless until they called for backup. Calm was restored after more security operatives, including the military, arrived at the scene.
President Muhammadu Buhari had given an order days before the election that political thugs should be dealt with ruthlessly.
INEC has blamed the delay of collation of results on disruptions in some parts of the country.
The Chairman Mahmood Yakubu said Sunday afternoon that announcement of results would be made latest Wednesday.
