Outgoing governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose was hailed as he went on an appreciation walk in the streets on Saturday.
Fayose bid farewell to the good people of Ekiti State as his tenure comes to an end.
His successor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi will take over the affairs of the state on Tuesday, October 16.
The governor had, on the same day, taken Fayemi’s Wife, Erelu Bisi and other members of the inauguration committee round the Govt House. He said he will hand over the Govt House to the Head of Service on Sunday (today).
As Fayose prepares to leave office in two days, he is leaving behind 5 months unpaid salaries for secondary school teachers, 5 months unpaid salaries for midwives in state hospital, 5 months unpaid salaries for secretariat workers, and 9 months unpaid salaries for pensioners.
